Dissolution of a company using ESC C16.

From 1 March 2012  where a company  is being informally dissolved only the first £25,000 will be  eligible for capital gain, the rest will be treated as a distribution subject to income tax.

HMRC Disclosure Facility

HM Revenue & Customs  will introduce tougher procedures for civil fraud investigations later this month.

As part of the Government’s commitment to tackle fraud  the  new Contractual Disclosure Facility (CDF) will be launched on 31 January 2012.


Tax Certificate of Residence
 
From December 2011 certificate of residence can be applied online. This is relevant  to a UK resident who has income and gains abroad and would want to avoid two tax  charges.



Swiss banks agree to pass tax to UK

Under the Swiss-UK tax deal, which comes into force in 2013, the Swiss will tax the bank accounts of UK citizens and transfer the money directly to the Treasury, but without revealing the identity of account holders.
